ignition problems

I have a 65 f100 with a 360 FE out of a 71. I pulled it in the garage and changed the engine bay wiring harness and the ignition switch. It turns over fine but I'm getting no spark out of the coil. It has a pertronix 1 with the flamethrower coil. I'm getting power to the coil but no spark when I try to start. Pulled the distributor and checked the case ground strap, cleaned up the little bit of corosion bit dint make a difference.what am I missing here? Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you aren't getting a full 12 volts to the coil when you are in the start position. First make sure your wires are on the solenoid correctly. Brown wire on the "I" terminal, Red/Blue on "S" terminal and Red/Green on the coil. If those wire are correct then your new switch may be bad or you may have a bad connection or bad wire under the dash. Disconnect the wire going to the coil and put a volt meter on it going to ground, with the switch in the run position you should have 6.6 volts or less providing the resistance wire is still in the circuit. Turn the switch to start and you should get battery voltage. Good luck.

Ok thanks, at this piont I'm sure it's something under the dash. I have the wires to the solenoid correct, the starting system is ok it's the ignition system. I will go buy a volt meter after work since right now I'm jist working with a test light. The wired thing was it had bin running fine all last summer then just before September I started having problems. It sat in the driveway for a month then when I went to finally pull it in the garage it started up first crank. And now that I put new stuff it doesn't want to spark at all.

I have 66 352 motor and had 2 Petronix 11 modules in the distributor go bad on me. When I got the first one replaced, I replaced my distributer just in case. Summit replaced the module because it was under warranty. The second one went bad and Petronix had me send it to them. Their conclusion was that it was getting some sort of surge in the system and recommended a diode be used. I have a new wiring harness so I went with MSN box and have not had an issue. Petronix said they had not come across this before, so hope you get it figured out.

Forgot to mention that I have the matching coil.
