Carburetor Finish

I wasn't planning on going but at the last minute i took a day off and went to Carlisle. I bought another holley 847(i have about 8 of them now!) and it had what looked to be original fitting. It was a Ford nut with the compression fitting part of the fitting as the inlet to the carb. It was 1/4" line but the line from the tank to the "flexible line' is definately 5/16" from what i can tell. I'm going to run 5/16" from tank to flex into the pump. From the pump i'm going with 1/4" ford nut to the carb. The truck carb has 4 bolts from top of carb into the bowl and i see no way you could put the the 5/16 flare female fitting in there without hitting that screw. It'll work but i'm honestly not sure if it's correct.
