I know winter is near being over, but I just scored some factory wheels and I want to set them up with winter tires. I'm wondering what winter tires everyone runs. Anyone run the general grabber at2 with studds? I want something good in the ice. Thoughts?
I wish I knew how you scored factory rims... been trying to score those for a long time now...
Interested in what you choose and how well they work. I'm torn between Nokians and Cooper's. One reason is that just before winter, Johnsons and Alaska Tire do a buy three get one free deal. Johnson's sells cooper and Alaska sells Nokian.

I've seen some good reviews on the Nokians, but being in Texas, I don't keep up too much with snow tires.

i got my rims thanks to a Facebook group in in. Jeep guys stick together. The two you mentioned are on my list. My wife has the nokian and they are great. I keep coming back to the general at2 studable though. I think because they look so much like the bfg at's, which are a great tire. I think studded, they'd be good. With my hill, I want some studds.
I can't do anything until I figure out how to get some of my income to count... and I won't look at anything until this is figured out. Send more paperwork to the underwriter today.
I'm running studded Coopers on my F350 that I also ran on my previous F250. They do well in the snow and ice. I have them mounted on a second set of rims, which sure makes seasonal changes a breeze. Bought them from TDS (now GCR) over by the Peanut Farm years ago.

I think the coopers are pretty good. That's what we ran on our trucks when we go riding, but we didn't have ice like here.
