Added BedRug liner, Tailgate assist and Tonneau Pro..

Hey everyone,
I added a bed rug, the DeeZee tailgate assist and a Tonneau Pro tri-fold tonneau.
No pics of the tonneau, pretty standard, simple install.
Bedrug, a very straight forward, followed their video, it was simple.
DeeZee tailgate assist, that was fun. What should have been 20 minutes max, took over an hour. First there are a few threads, most recently this one, this is the best one to start with if you are going to get the lift assist, i ran into an issue and have added my solution here.

Pics to follow.
First two, Before and after BedRug.

Before clean up and install.

Hour later, following their instruction. I think this is just what i needed.

Next, the Tailgate assist. My problem was that I couldn't get the nut-sert to install, it kept spinning.

I tried and tried. I attempted the loctite fix, and a couple of other items. methods until i finally found the bearing tool provided had bad bearings. See the image, they had flat areas, wouldn't roll.

Pic of bad bearings:

You can see all the bearing have a ridge or a flat spot, this prevented it from working properly and locking onto the other washer spinnnig the nut-sert.

After futzing around more, i came up with this.

In place of the inner washer, I used my grinder spanner which had a hole the proper size for the allen bolt, wide enough for the bearing to ride on, and long enough to catch somewhere.

This allowed me to properly set the nutsert.
I removed the bumper and applied the mylar. No issues with it rubbing or hitting, not too fast, not too slow, works really nice.

I have never seen a bed rug installed. It looks sweet. I would like to do that to mine and cut holes for my 5th wheel hitch. There are no reports of these holding water between the rug and bed, creating a rust problem?

Entering my 3rd year with BedRug and Tonnopro both. No problems, like 'em both. Both rode on my 2014 for a couple years and have been in my 2016 since 9/16.

In my week of reading reviews, on forums, amazon and other places, the answer is no. Actually, if i recall correctly on their website the video actually addresses this question.

Yet, another positive review, thanks. Makes me confident in my choices.

My only complaint was that in switching the BedRug from old truck to new, the new installation kit (basically new adhesive velcro) was a little pricey.
But I bought it because I knew that it worked instead of trying to fudge something in there to cheap out.
I've always had a tonneau on the truck with the BedRug, so I can't really speak of any moisture issues. To rickbrad, I've got 5th wheel rails in mine. I don't keep the hitch in the truck when I'm not pulling a trailer. The local RV dealer simply cut the rug where the rails had to go and installed them. No problems yet.

I've owned a few bed Rugs myself. There nothing about them I don't like. My Ford Dealer use to offer them for $299. if you bought it with your new Truck.

That's a deal. Seems like I was in the $400 range 3 years ago and that was talking a local shop into matching an online price.

Yep, thats where the cost was when i shopped, but eventually found a discount, but still came in over 300.
So far loving it.

With the new tonneau, and the bedrug, everytime i open the tailgate i get that 'new car' smell.

I've had my Bedrug for two years. Pulled it out to inspect the truck bed and it was clean and rust free. I waxed the bed while I had the liner out. Oddly, it was easier to put back in than it was to take it out.
