Shockless in Texas

Ok here's the deal

Bought an 1980 F350 Dually for $ 500.00

Previous owner blew up the rear diff and put in one that came off a Telephone truck . No telling what size truck but I suppose super duty or F450 . Problem is there are NO shock brackets on this axle or shocks ..

It is really beefy looking with at least 12 - 14 springs in the pack plus two overloads on top. This thing rides hard I feel every little bump . I thought that 86 shortbed 4x4 road ruff but its a caddie compare to how this thing rides.

Can I have someone weld on brackets or what. And how can I tell what is back there , I know it has 410 gears in the rear but thats all

you can weld shock perched to the axle tube, thats no big deal. As for what axle it is, look for markings on the axle.

Please do not cross post. I saw this in the axle forum too. You're question has 1 appropiate forum, and only 1. Thanks!
