hard shift

I have a hard shift only between 2nd and 3rd. I have an automatic transmission. I recently hard it flushed. They dropped the pan and changed the filter. There was no metal shavings and the fluid was in descent shape. Any ideas what this could be and why only between 2nd and 3rd?

It could be several things. Does the OD OFF light work? Has it been flashing? If so, there are codes stored. That would really help diagnosing this.

the OD Off light is on when it should be and it is not blinking.

Most likely the 2-3 shift modulator valve is sticking. It's located in the modulator body inside the pan.

Are there drawings/instructions or any guidance I can get on this project? will I need special transmission tools. where do I get the replacement part?
