Back again for a new round. I am having an possible injector problem and was just checking the hpop oil level . If you've got metal fragments in the hpop oil ...should I prepare for the worse. ?
Yes, it all's goes and comes from the pan. Something is causing it. You sure it's metal? It would have to be alot to just see it. I have it tested at Blackstone labs.

What if the HPOP is giving its first warning remember Byrons truck he had brass metal shavings on his hoop reservoir and oil. OP what color are the metal shavings?

I have seen too many failed lpops' . my money is lpop killed the hpop.
Wow, 12 years on here and I have not heard this talk before! Failed hpop, 1st one Byron. Darin put in a lpop for the hell of it. 12 years, that's it until this thread. Maybe because these trucks soon will be eligible for historic plates? lol
Okay so thank you for all the input,
you have confirmed my theory period outcomes the engine.
Now I have a chance to purchase a 2001 7.3 out of a t444e that was hooked up to an Allison. It has 88,000 miles on it and lost the oil cooler. Owner had engine replaced with long block comes complete with ECU turbo injectors and I will post pictures. How much of a hassle am I getting into doing this type of a swap. It would seem to me that the block is the block. I am draining the hpop reservoir today before oil analysis to go to Blackstone. Also will be checking to see the magnetic possibility is it aluminum brass or the lower rods. But I'm pretty much convinced that my engine is flooded with metal fragments. Mine is a 97
the engine is out of a 2001 .mine's is Ford international ,this is an international.

Listen to these guys. My oil was flooded with brass metal flakes. 3 changes later in 1000 miles and it's good to go. I'll send a sample in to Blackstone after 1000 miles of operation. If it is brass, HPOP is done.

I'll keep a good eye on my gauge or do you think it should be changed out?

I'm not sure if there is a way to predict it. I will have to get ahold of him and see what the symptoms werewere if any diff than what has been observed. I wish Byron would pull his already
