You can't have a wide wheel and deep dish without sticking waaay out! It doesn't work that way. Deep dish wheels look cool but your gonna be way out from the fender, probably 3-4" per side. I'm not trying to shoot down your idea just that you can't have both and you need to research much more before buying. There are lots of wheel offset calculators online to figure out what you want.
so the wheel I posted wouldn't work if I ordered it for 22x12 and put it on a 37x13.50 tire??
did you have to do any trimming for the 14 wides? And do you have and rear shots? I am wanting 12s but might change.
Why hey did you choose 14s?
Chris .. no trimming the 17s sit pretty high stock... 6 inch lift was applied by Ford dealer here they did all work to it for me...I'll have to look for some rear pics.. I lifted my 2008 several times....tried 10s and 14s.. had buddies that did 12s and regretted it. I didn't want to take a chance of not being happy. It's ignot silver..
Shines good in the sun...just overcast when I took pic
Thasilver, your right it's all what you personally like. Chris, the wheels he has sticks out 7.39" on each side compared to stock. For reference, 1-1.5" would be flush with the fender. With this setup you would be hanging out about 6" outside the fender which is no where near what you are asking for!
Start playing around with this calculator. OEM wheels are 8" wide and +40 offset.
If your wanting them to only stick out 2" with 13.50 wide tires look for a 10" wide wheel with a 0 or slightly positive offset.
Im getting mine lifted this week, went with 22x11 wheels with a -24 offset. They are going to stick out between 3-4 inches.
i only want the tires sticking out about 2 inches. Damn it.
So so I am limited in the rims I can pick??? Without them sticking out 6 inches?
Your welcome!
I had the same visions of grandeur as yourself until I started researching. If you want 2 inches out only, your gonna have a minimal wheel dish with maybe a 2 inch lip, not a 10" lip like your posting pics of. Probably a 10" wide wheel with between a -15 to +15 or similar offset is what you need. Remember also, when the wheel width changes, so does everything else. A 12 inch wide -15 offset will stick out further then a 8 inch wide -15 offset by 2 inches. Confused yet?
Also the numbers correspond to Millimeters. (25.4mm is equivalent to an inch)
Not an exact science but this was the first time i lifted my 2008...6 inches and 20x10s... still a good looking truck... i just wanted more of a lip.. check my albums i ended up lifting this truck to 8 inches and went with 20x14s... it's a tough decision and none of it is cheap...but you can always change it.
