Boy Mike, you're a polishing fool now.
Let's do some grilles.

Wheels are a real PITA.

I've wet sanded and polished several sets and it's a LOT of work.

Looking good. Don't forget to put some wax on them to help keep them shining.

Looking good - I have a set off the parts truck that need polishing as well. Just ordered a bunch of stuff from Mother's (have about $800 in certificates to use up) including some of their power polishing stuff.

What was your procedure for getting the shine back?

sanded rims with
80grit
180 grit
400 grit
600 grit
polished with air die grinder
first with black
then tripoli (brown)
finished with white diamond (white)

for wheels i leave the wheel on to do most of the sanding and jack up car and spin wheel with one hand while holding sand paper in other seems to make things go faster and a uniform sanding . i then remove wheel and use a da to sand flat area by lug nuts/center cap and finish up by hand .

One thing you'll need to do Mike, Set up camcorder on tripod, videotape this. Be careful.
