P0405....still

Still sorting issues with truck that I haven't owned for very long
My torque pro app says p0405 is set
I cleaned EGR valve & ohm'ed it out as per a post that I read
Cleared all codes
CEL lite on

Ideas? I currently have more time than $$$
Thanks

You can try checking the electrical connection on the EGR valve, but the p0405 points to a coil failure on the valve itself so you might want to start looking for a new valve replacement.

Has the CEL light been on since you have had it. You may have an EGR delete that leaves the light on until you clear it.

When I was an international tech, we had newer school buses with a common ABS light on complaint. Everything would check out fine on these new buses. It was very frustrating trying to find the problem. Long story short is I would tweak the male pins on the connection plugs going into the ABS module. If and ONLY if everything checks out good, such as testing the harness and checking the actuator/module, I would give this a shot only as a last resort. I say this because you risk breaking the pin.

"Tweak the pins" refers to giving the male spade style pins inside the connector a slight twist with needle nose pliers. Just a hair is all that's needed to improve the connection between the male and female surface area of contact. Use this method at your own risk! In the pic below is an exaggerated example of the male spade pins...

if the coil was failing, would it still ohm out within range? the pins look good, no bends or corrosion, chafed wires. the truck is otherwise stock.
the CELl lite goes out when I clear the codes, until I drive it enough for it to set the code again that is
