Vacuum modulator hook up
1974 302 C4. Posted week or so ago about radiator/intake/trans fluid & filter project and that has begun. Finding that my vacuum modulator is a 73/74 only two port unit that the second port T'ed into the EGR vacuum source. At some point in its life that source was eliminated and the hose routed to the EGR directly, no source, eliminating vacuum to that modulator port and EGR . The primary vacuum line to the modulator is on the manifold vacuum tree as it should be. Trans upshifts as I expect it to. While it's off thought I would plate the EGR off to clean that up some. Studying on this I believe I can get a single port modulator but there may be a retainer difference. Question is can I just hook this second line to the manifold tree with the primary?? That would have been what it was getting when the EGR had vacuum and the motor was at temp if I'm understanding the diagrams I found. Sorry so long and thanks very much for your insights.
