Poor sound proofing in explorers?

Its just me or explorers have poor sound proofing? I seem to hear a lot of road noise going on the freeway and in the city in my 1998 sport.

What year is your Explorer? Are you sure the noise is not related to your tires? Tires can have a pretty substantial impact on the amount of road noise you hear, especially at highway speeds.

I'll second this. With the previous set of tires that were on my girlfriend's car, they made so much noise, it was almost unbearable. I don't remember what model of tire that was. But now it has some BFGoodrich Long Trails on it and it's much, much quieter than whatever was on there.
