Yeah, well over.....just the basic package is $22K OVER the price of whichever truck you choose....can get very expensive. I think they're only building something like 100 units (could be wrong on that number).
Update for this - seeing widespread cracked/leaking oil pans, unacceptable engine rattles, cam phaser failures, and blown engines (one example had a snapped cam shaft).

So give us some numbers of how many have failed and no I am not going to google it. You brought it up so prove your point or shut up.
93Cobra - I'm a member of that forum too. I would not call failures that may be inherent flaws to the 3.5EB engine GEN-2 Raptor issues. There are only a couple of people that have had cam phaser issues and yes one guy did have a broken cam - but again - that is not a Gen-2 Raptor issue any more than loud injector ticking on a 6.2 V8 is a Gen-1 Raptor issue..
Yes there will be some teething pains with the first model year of most vehicles. I do not think that the Gen-2 Raptor will be any different in this regard.
Ford has made roughly 21k Gen-2 Raptors to this point. I would be willing to bet on a hunch that half of them belong to enthusiasts like us who are internet savvy. We will probably hear of more failures because of the electronically connected user base - but don't think for a minute that the sky is falling.
My point was that the ecoboost has been out since 2011 and has the same issues year after year. These are the same problems that are coming up in the 2017 ecoboost Raptor.

Then why try and make it a Gen-2 Raptor issue when it is not?
Did you think that the engines put in the Raptors were going to be extensively different than the run of the mill F150 3.5EB?
I do not expect that the engine in the 2017 Raptor would be any more or less reliable than the standard F150 engine. Point in fact, on the whole, the F150's engines have been some of the most reliable engines Ford has.
The ecoboost has not been the most reliable. It will go down as worse than the 6.0 PSD.
Your opinion is as valid as the next person's - no more or less and you are entitled to it.
Now, maybe you should pick on the Focus and Fiesta owners or all the other platforms that use the Ecoboost technology...
These are simply not issues centric to the Gen-2 Raptor.
Good luck with whatever you decide to buy..
The gen 2 Raptor group has no idea about these problems. This is a great place to collect the problems and get the answers. The questions people ask here have been rehashed for years by the current ecoboost community.

I don't get it...is this a hobby of yours somehow? Troll truck forums looking to stir up fear with minimal anecdotal evidence and faulty logic?
Fairly certain you could wage your Holy Crusade against any engine ever made...you just need a target, a search engine, and an internet forum or two.
If you you followed the Raptor forums, you would realize the amount of problems they are having. There are no truck issues, they are just specific to engine and transmission. You don't see the Roush or Shelby trucks having problems. Ironically, folks in my region are buying new Roush F150s rather than the Raptors. The smart consumer knows to stay away from the ecoboost.

Then if you're such a great guy and want to inform the Raptor community, why aren't you on FRF and FR2 peddling all this?
Do you even have a dog in this fight? Do you own a Gen-2 Raptor?
I hear that the Ram forum is looking for more people to go nuts over the latest Ecodiesel fiasco.... I mean if you're really looking for something to do..
