Thanks in advance for anybody who can help me. Currently traveling in Bozeman Montana.
I have a 1995 Ford F350 with a lance cab over camper on it. Gas engine. 1995 with 166,000 miles on it
I came down a small mountain pass today and when I hit the brakes relatively hard at the very end of breaking I had what felt like a clunking and/or binding type of feeling in my brake pedal was a little gushy.
I have been using the four-wheel-drive a little bit more than normal, but I have in the past with no problems. Brake fluid is full. I have the brake pads checked recently and they are good as well.
Is it still doing it under normal braking. If not, I wouldn't worry at this point or you can brake hard and try to duplicate what happened. Proceed from there.
Right rear drum is bad. For whatever reason inner shoe cracked. Causing things to not seat right. Which caused my pads to completely crumble. The locking up I felt most likely the pads locking up and being destroyed.
