My buddy is having a race for his lost cousin, and I really want to wake up my motor a little bit without changing stock internals, Im thinking heads, cam, headers, larger throttle body, and more. I have a 1993 f150 4x4 with a 5.8 efi and I need some advice. Trying to keep a small budget and im not going to be the only piece of **** on the track, My goal is to beat a 2ed gen stock cummins and a couple other stock trucks. Also can you give me some advice on what kind of gears i should go with and how much power i can push out with stock internals thankyou.

Let's start with what is your realistic budget?

There is not much free HP in these trucks.

Crane 444232
Full exhaust with headers
GT40 cast iron heads
Should make 300hp or so and that will push the limits of the stock EFI control and fuel supply systems.

Don't bother with changing the throttlebody.
