96 Tailgate trim reflector damage
I did this for my truck TWO DAYS AGO, so I should know...

You will have to pry the old one off. Be careful not to damage the aluminum trim. There is a strip of plastic underneath that is glued to the inside edge of the trim piece, it's prone to breaking, if you aren't careful while prying.
Pry from one end, and work your way to the other end; don't start in the middle and work your way out.
Pieces of the glued edge on the inner piece will break off and remain attached to the outer trim. I won't be using the original inner plastic piece on my aluminum trim, but I would assume you just need to sand the edge down to get the new trim piece to fit.
I believe there is some special adhesive you can use to glue the new piece on. It's all a matter of gluing that edge, not spreading glue all over the back.
