Transmission Issue
Just a heads up for all new 2017 F-250 Owners.
I bought a new F250 FX4, Diesel Crew Cab - Loaded... 73k truck.
I recently went to Kentucky (5 hour drive) and on the way home, I stopped in Nashville for lunch. All was good. Less than an hour later, had to stop for Fuel. When I got off the exit ramp, I noticed a large amount of smoke, but thought it was the 18 Wheeler in front of me.
Drove to the Love's truck stop and stopped at the gas pump and tons of smoke coming from under my truck. I climbed under the truck and there was oil ALL OVER the underside of the truck, on the exhaust, etc.
I climbed under the truck and started wiping up some of the oil to try to see if I could figure out what was going on. Turns out that the 2 lines that go into the side of the tranny on the passenger side, that connects to the oil cooler...the tops line was dripping very fast.
I fortunately caught it early because the fluid was not down much. I checked the tranny temp, etc., and that was fine.
When the vehicle is shut off, there was no leak, but within 10 seconds of starting the vehicle, it started dripping big time.
I ended up driving the vehicle up the road about 8 miles to Cookeville Ford, and that is where it is currently.
Kudo's to Nikki and John at the dealership. They worked hard and set me up with a 2017 F-150 so that I could haul my trailer home with appliances. They even locked my vehicle in the garage since i had a high dollar refrigerator in the back bed.
Will let everyone know what happens, but very disheartening spending over 70k for a vehicle and have a major issue like that at 3600 miles. From what I can see, it's a very poor setup the way that Ford designed this. Anxious to see what it is.

Thanks for the information. While still discouraged this happened, I am actually glad to hear that this is a 'known' issue.
One question. Where can I find information on recalls, etc.? I would like to check that periodically as if I had known to look at this, I could have had it fixed proactively.
Thanks again all...

If you register at Welcome to Ford Owner | Official Ford Owner Site you should be able to see the recalls. But, this isn't a recall, I'm not even sure Ford has put anything out about it. It's known to this forum to be an issue, I'm not sure if it's known to the dealers.

Could be that there was just a batch of bad lines.
Could be that Jimmy on the line was having a bad day.
Manufacturers hate "recalls". This could just be a TSB.
