Borgeson steering shaft

Borgeson steering shaft
I'm trying to order a new borgeson steering shaft but on their site they list 2 different ones. #000970 and #000975. The truck the shaft is for is a 78 f-250 4x4 with a 3 inch body lift. Which one is the correct one for my application with a 3 inch body lift? Are both shafts cut to fit?

Do not really know what a "vibration reducer" is, that looks to be the only difference. Maybe a call to there tech line will answer that.
And yes pretty sure both are cut to fit. And since you have a 3" body lift you will need the extra length.
Measure X3, cut once. The idea of a cut to fit is to give that steering shaft some universal application and allow for custom cut of the steering shaft for vehicle crash steering column compression.
You should cut off way less since you have the 3" body lift. Again measure X3 cut once, once its to short, its to short.

The Borgesons are just u-joints on either end. I just installed the 000975 in my '76 and I cut a pretty good chunk out of it, more than enough there to reach with a body lift. Between the Borgeson shaft and a little adjustment on the box it's a night and day difference from what I had, I can actually relax while on the highway now.
