What was ticking?
Are you sure the battery is fully charged?
Did you try resetting the fuel inertia switch? It is supposed to cut off fuel on impact.
On the passenger (right) side kick panel at the top of that panel there is a small cutout so you can fit your finger in there and depress the red button on the inertia switch. If it has deployed to cut off fuel, the red button will be in the up position and will need to be pressed down for proper vehicle operation. You can remove the kick panel to check it, but it is very simple to reach one finger in there and depress the switch.
When you depress the red button on the inertia switch it should stay locked in the down position. If it does not stay in the down position while not wrecking, the switch is defective.
