I think the bearing issues were limited to 2012 models. If you're into modding your truck most want to install the larger 2015-16 turbo but I think there is more to it than just bolting it on.
Or just buy a 15. There was allot of updates to the second gen 6.7. Google will list them all but for me the bigger, more reliable turbo and stroked fuel pump were enough to convince me.
The 2015+ turbo and fuel pump work better at high altitude than the 2011 - 2014 models. I was close to GVWR going up to Mt. Evans in CO (14k feet up) and didn't have any issues, but I was only hauling, not pulling a heavy trailer.
An early range (at least the 2012 MY) had the ceramic bearings, but the turbo itself was pretty much the same capacity from 2011 - 2014.

Yeah, I ended up just biting the bullet and picked up a 17. It's an awesome truck but man that price tag stings!
Yeah, I try not to think about that is is almost as much as my house payment. You really have to keep these things for a long time to make it worth to.
Yeah, that's what I am planning on. 10-15 yrs, I figured buy the thing pay it off in 3 yrs and then go about 10 years with no payment and a truck you know everything about.
That site only mentions the model year changes to the 6.7L motor. There are plenty of additional changes to truck each year, like dash changes, heated rear seats, defrost rear window, different speakers, back up camera relocated, and look of the tailgate. I'm sure there is a lot that could be listed. My father-in-law has the same model 2016 as I do in a 2011 and although most of it similar, there are little things here and there.
