My SD did not come with the trailer tpms (maybe a mistake, maybe not). My 5th wheel already has a tpms that requires an antenna at the back of the truck with a cable run from there to inside the cab and then to the display unit. I tried running the cable last weekend and while running it under the truck was easy, I could not find a place to push it through into the cab. The cable is about 1/2 the thickness of a regular coax cable.
Any thoughts (and yes, this post leads itself to people telling me where to stick it but I'm sure that the maturity of the people on the forum will keep things clean.)
When I installed AMP power steps I had to drill a hole to pass a wire into the cab.
It's under the plastic door sill. There is a a nice channel there with some other wires, then you can route the wire behind the kick panel. A grommet and some sealant and it should be good.
watched a video on a install of amp research steps on a 2017 f250 he passed the wires through a grommet under the drivers side carpet. pull it up on youtube.
You could also bring your wire up into the engine bay in front of the firewall on drivers side. There is a 3-4" rubber boot by the drivers left foot that has a wire harness going through it. Poke a hole in it and run your wire through it.
If doing this you will need to push a clothes hanger, or something similar, through the boot and attatchment your wire to it to pull through. Lube the wire and support the boot with your other hand as you pull or the boot will try to come loose. It happened to me but I was able to get it back in place.
