Tuning

Anyone ever tune a 6.2 in a super duty?

5 star tuning seems to be the go to place. No experience personally.

Back and forth about next truck lease coming up soon on my 16 don't want a diesel but need a sd, or a more hd 150. Mechanic at my local dealer suggested tuning a gas sd said they respond fairly well. Not looking to make it a hot rod just maybe a little more fun to drive here and there when not towing

I used 5 star on my 2011 6.2. It definitely perked up the throttle response.

I actually still have the hand held programmer if that is of any value to anyone.

Have you test drove the truck yet? For a big truck it goes pretty well and the diesel isn't much faster due to the extra weight. You aren't going to make the SD much better out of a simple tune, you might lose a couple of tenths on a 0-60 time. You will need to do some engine mods to see any major difference, especially if you want to get it to f150 status.

If you want to wake it up a little either turn off traction control, put it into sport mode (double tap the traction control button), or hold down the traction control for about 10 seconds until advancetrac is off message is displayed to have nothing interfering with the power.

I've seen a video online for 0-60 testing and a 4.30 geared gasser was 2 tenths faster than the same truck with powerstroke and 3.55 gears.

Don't know if that is true or not, but I do know my 6.2L with the 4.30 surprised the hell out of me with its acceleration. The truck is no slouch.
