speedo jump
HI All,I have a 94 f250 4x4 7.5 with a e4od.The issue is that last fall the speedo needle stated to jump at 60 to about 70 before 50 smooth and after 70.Really screws up cruise control.Tranny shifts fine,no noises or anything out of place.The tranny also has a Banks ecm.Thanks for any help

I have a 91 F-250 5.8 E4OD that does this same thing. It doesn't affect my cruise once I have it set at correct speed but speedo will jump. It almost always jumps about 5mph also, bounces sometimes but usually jumps about 5mph. If your not looking when it happens and the cruise was not set yet you don't know if your doing 55 or 60.

It could be bad bearing in the rear end or junk collected on the rear end sensor on the 94 truck. Try removing the sensor, wiping it off and putting it back in. Also check the wiring going to the rear end sensor.
The 91 truck is a different set up and could be a bad cable or the cable needs to be lubed.
