I'm late but I'll put this here anyways.
As for the dealer giving you the Oasis report, I too have had them give me a hard time. Until I went in for parts, and gave the parts guy my VIN, he then ran a report for me.

Yeah, I just don't want to invest in somebody else's truck. Maybe my buddy will.
Yea same here on the dealership, I asked for history & they wouldn't tell me, I went to a different dealership & got a quote for an oil cooler standpipes & stc. Asked the parts guy if he could tell me if any major work was done & that I didn't want to replace something if it was already done. He looked through it, said it had 3 egr valves, front cover replaced, a few wire repairs, & 2 Injectors in the first 55k miles. Asked if he could print it out for me and he said he was not allowed to that the warranty history was supposed to be confidential. Such dumb policies ford has but I guess they're trying to cover their ***. If they think you're going to buy a bunch of parts from them they might tell you the history like they did with me. No way in hell tho I'd ever buy the parts at those markup rates tho, but i was only getting quote on the parts to try to get warranty history & it worked
Same results here when I asked a dealer to run my VIN. The guy played dumb about the Oasis report and basically said they don't do that anymore. Just seems shady to me. Fortunately, I received a crap load of paperwork and dealer invoices when I bought mine from the seller that kept everything.
Seems like paying for the Carfax is the only way to go these days unless you get lucky like Bumblebee04.
Here are some pictures and notes, this is just the beginning as we were able to get the truck to my house earlier than thought.
I pulled both CAC tubes to and from the intercooler. Checked out the boots, there in okay condition, but the location of these boots, and on the boots have quite a bit of oil build up.
Pulled the batteries and will hopefully get them load tested tomorrow.
Pulled the alternator and will get it bench tested tomorrow.
Sensor locations look good so far.
Here we go with pictures:
The engine bay is very dirty.
I see the oil cap issue.
I pulled the oil filter and secondary fuel filter and they both looked good.
I pulled the air filter and it is very dirty on the front of it, but the indicator states its still in good condition.
This picture is showing what looks like a little rust on the wheel.
What the heck is going on with this dipstick? It seems to have been melted down or something. I have never seen anything like this. Maybe the oil got too hot at one point?
Another picture of that oil dipstick.
So the lower part of the EGR valve was wetter than it shows in this picture. Interesting.............. The O-ring's seemed to be mashed bad. I will be lifting the rear end of the truck up with a jack after doing the EOT/ECT test drive to look for wetness.
This picture has me the most concerned. I don't know if this is from all the leaking oil at the boot locations or if we have a leak issue where the transmission pairs up to the motor?
Here we are looking at the port of the intake elbow. The brown stains will not come off with scraping, I am wondering if it is rust or really bad burnt on oil?
Also, the oil in the bottom of the port there seems excessive? Maybe? I wiped my finger in there and it came out all oily.
Here is another picture of the intake elbow port.
There is ALOT of excess oil all over the steering box?!?!!?!?!
So, from all these pictures I am looking for insight from you guys to see what your thoughts are on this 2003. Also, I found out the chassis actually has 173,000.
