Module, module, who's got the module?
1995 F150 4.9 - Too much confusion over which module fits my truck. Oh Really's has the DY1075 Motorcraft listed, but I try that thru Amazon and they say it doesn't fit my truck.
- Ford Parts online sez it uses a DY533. Don't get me started on the aftermarket guys like Standard or NAPA....
Mine is fender mounted in the heat sink.

The ignition module doesn't care how many cylinders you have, it just powers the coil based on the signal it's getting from the distributor (which varies based on cyl count). It doesn't know the difference between 4cyl at 3000rpm, 6cyl at 2000rpm or a v8 at 1500rpm.

Search on Amazon for the correct Black "Fender Mounted" ICM.
NOTE: I just searched on RockAuto, using the "Part Number" for "Motorcraft DY1077. It's $57.79
It's available, though not listed in the correct subcategories for Ford trucks for 1995-1997.

And that DY1077 will work on my 4.9?
The "T" refers to the "Economy" brand, cheaper.
Search on Amazon for the correct Black "Fender Mounted" ICM.

Traced my problem to a set of bad spark plugs...
I am assuming somebody dropped the box of spark plugs before I got them and a couple of them have hairline cracks (I can't prove this, but I JUST put them in)
I replaced all six again and the problem cleared up.
