Just a quick question. i am in the process of putting new gears in my truck. swapped out gears in the front diff. and know i am putting everything back together. Does anyone know the torque specs on the hubs ?
I want to put a transmission cooler in after the rad. but i am not to sure which line is the return line.
What hubs are you talking about? The little allen head screws that hold the chrome piece on? Or the little lug nuts that hold the spindle in place?
When I put my cooler on it had instructions that told me from dead cold, start the engine and run it for a minute and then shut it off. Then feel the tranny lines at the transmission, the warmer one is going into the radiator, the cooler one is going back to the trans. It works.
If you have the clicker type nut, tighten it to 25 ftlbs. If you have the dual spanner nuts, tighten the first nut to 25 ftlbs, put the lock washer in the place on the pin. If the pin won't go, back the first nut up till the pin goes in one of the holes, then put the second spanner nut in place and tighten it against the locking washer to 150 ftlbs.
