I like the super duty grill but not the one that's on it now

My 97 had the same type of steps but were cracked badly (fiberglass) so removed them and went with Nerf-bars. Although I liked the change wife just hated them when trying getting in and out of the truck in bad weather. These are in such good shape will just keep for awhile, wife happy project, cost $00. And since I'm a grandpa (3 times), great grandpa (1 time) and retired I fit the (grandpa steps) scenario perfectly .
Lol.... as long as they function for your use keep them.

haha, I never liked the fact that those Mare steps didn't have the back step to get into my tool box. You can probably see the marks in the paint where I was jumping up Todd! Did they come off in one piece so you could sell them Todd or did they break up in pieces?

Here is my 97 with original steps when I first got in. Although they look good in the picture they were cracked pretty bad and mount straps loose. Also no steps into bed. This was a Sterling conversion truck and I really didn't like the look that much. Don't know if the 99 is factory or not but do like the look much better, and now have steps for front of truck bed.

Well guys, flue down to Az Saturday and all is well. Had to go to DMV on Monday to get trip permit because AZ owners keep their plates, not bad $15 to drive it up to Oregon. Then of course had to go to bank and pay for it, lol.

Few surprises, truck had rear air bags and a nice DVD system, all these years I never knew it, duh.

I'm tall and on the 97 just step into the cab. This thing is high, not lifted
and need the step panels to get in.

Leaving Thursday morning for trip back to Oregon.

Got back to Oregon early evening Friday. Truck ran flawless with no issues. Left early Thursday morning and made it to I5 over I40 then 58 to Bakersfield area. Left early Friday morning up I5 and good grief, nothing but hard rain, never saw it rain so hard and I live in Oregon..

Have to tell ya the trip thru Sacramento area was a "butt puckering" experience, low clouds (fog), very hard rain and wrecks everywhere. It was impossible to see anything with all the road spray. This pretty much continued until I got a well north of of Redding, then the weather let up a bit.

From the news guess it got worse on Saturday as parts of I5 were down to 1 lane each way as water was on the freeway. I certainly can understand that as I saw the farming fields flooding and water was almost to freeway level at that time.

Take care down that way as the driving is dangerous.
