Lariat Ultimate

to those who got a lariat value package - do you regret not getting the ultimate package and the led headlamps?

I don't need all the fancy stuff that comes with lariat ultimate like moon roof etc. i like the step tail gate and all... the value package is nice. Compared to my sierra SLT it seems the value package is on par with my SLT minus navigation. Does the lariat come with navigation? And the ultimate just voice navigation?

These two packages are my options and trying to get feed back from you guys to see what you all think.

Pretty sure you can option navigation with the Value Package. Don't trust the online Build & Price. Option your truck from the latest Build Guide.

You won't regret the value package or better still the ultimate package. I was thinking no sunroof but withe the power shade, and how we'll it works, it's there or it's not, your choice.

Absolutely, the LED package is awesome. For what you pay, all the LED lighting is awesome and you can't beat it. You literally don't need extra lights it's that good, headlights, driving, tail, marker, mirrors, over cab, backup. I have always spent a lot on extra lighting and don't need to on this truck because of it. Look at the thread for what guys are going through to upgrade after the fact. Half the year, I go to work in the dark, I come home in the dark, I drive for work in the dark often, it is really an excellent feature.

interesting. Okay well my sierra had horrible headlights and I spent a lot of money in light upgrades also.

I also installed led pod pod lights in the rear bumper because I could hardly see with the camera. You say it's really bright? None of that needed?

Here you go. And the LED lights would be very tempting for me.

Damn that's so crazy how I am basically forced to spend 5k more for great headlamps or spend 2 k for them on eBay plus wiring. Which basically makes it a dumb choice not to get the ultimate package.

What an annoying option. Do you think it'll change for 2018?

When you all talk about LED do you mean the head lights or the ambient lighting inside the truck?

Pretty sure my lariat ultimate did not have LED head lights. It does have 300 other lights that basically confuse me as well but seems pretty nice. Can't say I have ever needed a boot lamp on mirror.

That's like the Chrome Package will not allow the ELectric steps on the Lariat but you can get the both if you go to KR or Platinum. Just a way of making you upgrade to higher packages to get all the bells and whistles. They make a ton more money on these high end accessories.
Oh, another is the 3.55 gears available ONLY if you get 20" wheels... That one really ticked me off. I wanted aftermarket wheels and didn't want to spend $1420 for the ugly machined wheels to get the lower gears. Forced on me....

From what I can tell you CAN get 3.55 with 18 inch wheels. The B and P site let's you build it. It does not force 20 inch wheels and wouldn't gain you anything if it did because with the larger circumference of the 20 inch tire the final drive ratio is about the same as the 3.31 with 18's. However if you WANT 20 inch wheels then 3.55 is required. I ordered mine with the 20's but I have seen trucks on the lot with 18's and a 3.55.

All the trucks builds I have seen have 3.55 with 18" wheels at the dealership. That would be 6.

I have not seen a lariat ultimate edition with LED head lights even though that is exclusively what I am looking at.

Dealers around here hardly ever stock trucks on the lot with LED headlights. If it isn't a Platinum, chances are it doesn't have em. Frustrating.

That's one of the main reasons I decided to order mine. It's so hard to find a truck on a lot with all the options you are looking for.
