the led headlamps which dont don't come with the lariat ultimate but you can only get with the lariat ultimate...... stupid.
Here's another stupid one in canada you can order a lariat with led's and no ultimate package you can even get them on a super cab it does make you add blis though.
I ordered a lariat value package and added navigation. The ultimate package didn't add anything I needed for another $2800. The LED's would be cool to have but it wasn't worth another 4 grand. I have a sunroof on my truck now and never use it and one in my wife's car to. I'm sure as the years go buy I'll kick myself every time I see one with LED'S though lol!
Ordered the value, but added nav, moon roof, tailgate step. In hindsight, should have got ultimate. Really miss the keyless entry/ignition that I have had on previous vehicles.
My Lariat Ultimate has LED everything. Love the lighting. the Power steps are amazing too. very nice to have
Would've liked the power boards. My wife's Expedition has them. I guess the thing is I had a mental barrier with the 70k thing. I can afford more, but this is getting stupid. This is my 3rd diesel, last one is a Lariat, the first one was an XLT and I was just fine with that one. So this one stickers for 68,500 and that's where I stopped it. I hope I can be happy with it, and I say that sarcastically and jokingly.
You really do have to order the packages properly to get the most out of it. If you add all the items individually it's more money. Up here they are ordering the LED package on a lot, truly far better lighting. I just couldn't see going to a higher package, I didn't want the power steps either. I don't know how well they would do up here in the ice and slush build up. I do like how far they go down. Also my kids would be getting hit by them when they open the door as they have to be so close to reach the door handle still. The LED package on the ultimate withe he headlights is super expensive to replace. LED under door lighting, all the interior accent lighting, LED backup lights and Camera light. We shall see how well they last, they will be expensive to replace for sure.
All the trucks builds I have seen have 3.55 with 18" wheels at the dealership. That would be 6.
I have not seen a lariat ultimate edition with LED head lights even though that is exclusively what I am looking at.
Mine is a U.S. truck, but it was the only one in my area with these options. Of about 75 Lariats, this was the only one that had LEDs and power running boards. Needless to say, I put money down on it before it arrived on the truck. Crappy picture from the day I brought it home:
I have the Lariat Value package and I did not want the sunroof as this was the main no go item in the Ultimate package for me. The extra inside lights would have been cool, and the LED head lamps would have been great but I think those are extra even with the Lariat Ultimate. I have the nav, tailgate step, 20" wheels, 3.55 locking rear end, BLIS, and adaptive steering, and up fitter switches, were the main items I was looking for and found a truck with these on it. It was just getting too darn expensive to get these items and the Ultimate package and not order a truck. There is some give and take with what is in stock. One thing I did find out but not a big deal is that the Lariat Value package does not have the push button start. Old school key. Not a big deal but just was shocked when I got inside the truck. Love the truck and its my first diesel. Drove some F150's and they were ok, I did not like the way the F150 steered. It was to light a feel at the wheel, and it was just "another truck" Drove the F250 diesel and was sold.

Love the truck. I had a very hard time finding a Lariat Ultimate with LEDs and the Technology package. And I would have been okay with several colors. It was like a unicorn around here.
From what I can tell you CAN get 3.55 with 18 inch wheels. The B and P site let's you build it. It does not force 20 inch wheels and wouldn't gain you anything if it did because with the larger circumference of the 20 inch tire the final drive ratio is about the same as the 3.31 with 18's. However if you WANT 20 inch wheels then 3.55 is required. I ordered mine with the 20's but I have seen trucks on the lot with 18's and a 3.55.
This is correct. To get the 3.55 on my Lariat Ultimate I had to also order the Camper Package. I was OK with that as I wanted the sway bar anyhow.
When you spend this much for a truck shouldn't you get what you WANT? Ford needs to get their order fulfillment process down to 3-4 weeks and for the price they charge for destination fees from KY, they need to put them on a semi and get them to us quickly!
to those who got a lariat value package - do you regret not getting the ultimate package and the led headlamps?
I don't need all the fancy stuff that comes with lariat ultimate like moon roof etc. i like the step tail gate and all... the value package is nice. Compared to my sierra SLT it seems the value package is on par with my SLT minus navigation. Does the lariat come with navigation? And the ultimate just voice navigation?
These two packages are my options and trying to get feed back from you guys to see what you all think.
Don't regret getting the value package over the ultimate at all. But I had a budget to stick to and had to be realistic on my wants and needs.
Voice Activated Navigation - yep, added it, $570. You'll already get the SYNC 3, Sony stereo, HD and SiriusXM radio.
Tailgate step - yep, added it, $375.
All the fancy driver enhancement features, sure they are cool and some could be useful, but if you actually pay attention and drive they aren't needed.
LED headlights - they look cool. Brighter headlights are always good, but not for $1080. I regularly get flashed by people with the trucks low beam halogens. They are acceptable, not poor but not great. I would like to have the LEDs but again not for $1080 plus the $4820 of the ultimate package. I spent less than $200 for an LED light bar and mount instead.
