I am just wondering if anyone has any experience with the puddle lamps under the outside rear view mirrors? On my 2012 Lincoln Navigator, neither of the puddle lights are working. The fuse is not blown. I was just wondering if anyone has dealt with these. I don't want to spend $50 on 2 bulbs if there is something else wrong. I was just wondering what the probability is that they both are burned out, or if there is something else wrong. Those bulbs are rediculously expensive (for what you get). Any info would be greatly appreciated.
That being said, to confirm the circuit is working, just pop the bulbs out and measure the voltage on the plug. If it reads 12V and the bulb doesn't light up, then the bulb is bad. There are posts online showing how to open these bulb assemblies and replacing just the bulb inside, so you don't have to get raped by the stealership.. Bad design for customers IMO, but great for the dealers as they get to charge stupid prices for simple bulbs.... Alternatively, you can upgrade them to LED bulbs, which would probably outlast the truck.. Here's one example: Drive Bright | LED Puddle Light Pack ? Bright TRAX ? V4 EXTREME (Ford & Lincoln)
