I just received my recon smoked cab lights for my truck that came with amber bulbs, one of them was broken when i got them and im going out soon to look for a replacement. Does anyone know the voltage and wattage of the clearance light bulbs? I dont have my truck here or else i'd look. Thanks in advance if anyone can help
Here is a link to LED's with much better prices:WLED-x6 (194 type) Wedge Base bulbs Specifications
Their inventory is huge, so spend some time and I'm sure you'll find what you like while saving some jack.
On edit, realize their bulbs have different beam angles. I guess you'd need 360* for the clearance lites. Shop carefully!
Back in April, I ordered the Recon lenses with the 3.5 watt 194 style bulbes for my '16 F250. I didn't want the marker light, but all the trucks we looked at had them.
Did the round trip from Minneapolis to Talladega. A few weeks ago I notice one lens was missing. The base was cracked and the screw post was split in half. I know what you're thinkin - over torqued. I had the screws barely snug. Lost another lens last Saturday on a Menards run. Screw post on the base was split. Now I'm not happy. Ordered new lenses. While installing the 2 new lwnses I noticed that 4 out of 5 of the bases were missing the front lip that the lens snaps under.
I used silicone on all the lenses until I find a better replacement.
Ford did not have better idea this time.
Anybody else run into this?
You bumped a thread that is almost 7 years old but I had the smoked lenes on my old truck never had a problem in I even hit a bat once going about 60 and the light was fine. It's weird some people have nothing but problems with recon stuff. Some the factory bases of those lights did leak and there was some bubbling under a few of the lights. I wish I never bought that thing but o well it's gone now. But I also won't buy another truck with cab lights either even though they do look good.
