Two days ago I noticed that I had one of my cargo lights that didn't light up---I took the light off and the bulb was blown, and other was OK. I picked up a couple of bulbs and I replaced both of them. Now, neither one will burn. I checked the bulbs with an ohm meter--they were good---checked the #10 fuse at the passenger kick panel and all OK, but I don't have voltage at the light sockets now. If the bulbs I used were a greater wattage than the originals, would that have sent an overload signal to the SJB (smart junction box) and stopped the supply of power to the lights? I'm tempted to put it right back where I started, with the one good, used bulb and see what happens then. Anyone have a clue on this one? Dennis
Well, I got the lights working. The cargo light bulbs were supposed to be 9w and the ones I put in were 15w----I changed them out and put the 9w bulbs in and noticed the brake light was also blown, so, I changed it. When I did all this, all of them worked the way they were supposed too. What was the trouble? I really don't know---that's like asking which came first the chicken or the egg. The next time I'll make sure to use the exact same bulbs, when replacing any on my truck.
