I actually kind of like the look of that, but im a sucker for traditional looking gauges. I like the fact the speedo has 1 mph increments too. Rest of the trucks i am not too fond of.
Anyone know why ford did away with voltmeter?
I hate the 1 MPH increments on the speedo. I've always hated that about GM gauges. It just clutters it up too much. Speedos are usually off by 1-3 MPH anyway, so what's the point?
The tiny 1mph increments are rendered kind of useless by the large digital readout, no?
Voltmeters are basically irrelevant nowadays since electrical systems are so strong now.
Coming from my dodge i was used to the 1 mph increments, took some getting used to me not having them. The digital doesn't seem to work for me, i am used to seeing the needle in my peripheral vision and not having to concentrate on a number.
I agree on the volt meter, but its nice to see if your alternator is beginning to fail before your left with a dead bat. Im guessing there is an idiot light that comes on at a certain voltage.
Anyone know the weight difference in a comparable 4x4 ccs duramax truck to a ford? I know in the past the chevies were considerably lighter than similarly equipped dodges and fords. Curious if this is still the case and ford is out powering the weight disadvantage
I'm wondering if the race wasn't over by the time he "drove around" him?
I don't think so as you can hear the lp5 still at full throttle.. The driver in the ford looks as if he hit the brakes and was trying to spool the turbo when they take off.
I think transmission overheating is the GM's biggest obstacle to towing 30k full throttle up the Ike. Mine would warm quickly if you pushed it hard with 17k behind it up steep hills.
I had the same issue with a 2016 GMC 3500 Duramax. The transmission consistently overheated pulling about the same weight that you were pulling up the Allegany front. (very steep) The engine warmed up some as well but didn't overheat. I think the tranny heat was transferring to the engine.
