2000 Ex V10 4x4 and am due for a set of tires. My last set was Yoko's and seem very noisy and one has a high spot that has thumped since I've owned the truck.
I remember years ago that someone had suggested a nice tire for the weight of this truck and forgot to write it down. Anyway has this been discussed and does anyone have any suggestions?
Depends on your use, but for me I'll be going with the Michelin LTX A/T2. I've had really good luck with that particular tire on another vehicle (pre-X) where I got 100K miles out of a set. Worth the money (IMHO).

This is what I did. Go to your local Quicklane, get the Michelin part number, Google that number to find the lowest price you can and they will price match. Plus I got $140.00 in rebates combined from both Michelin and Quicklane credit card. Netted under $200.00 per tire.
Wrong size though. Should be LT265/75R16 123/120R E. Those are $194 there.
If you are on a budget though, these at Walmart have very good reviews and are inexpensive as well. I had a set on my last EX and they were quiet and handled well on the street (where I spend all of my time). I don't want to spend $1k on tires for a part time travelling vehicle.
If you're a Costco member, check them out too. They have a deal on Michelin or Bridgestone all the time. Plus they will give you warranty for the life of the tires, free rotation, plugs, balancing etc. I'm partial to Michelins as i've had outstanding experience with them on all my cars in the last 15 years. My EX currently has the Michelin LTX AT/2 also that the previous owner had installed.
I would like to stick with Michelin's but have another quick question.
The Dextero does look like a nice tire and now had an email from buddy in Jacksonville saying he just changed his tires to a larger set and has 5 bridgestones forsale with 5k on the thread. Here is the link to the tires but there 18", will they fit my Ex, will they be too narrow? If they fit I'll have to look for rims, any suggestion there?
I would pass on those P rated tires. Your EX's rear axle weight rating should be 5250lbs, two of those P rated tire would be limiting the rear axle to only 4938lbs. It's easy enough to hit the RAWR on the mighty Ex without handicapping it with car tires.
Hi all, going to purchase set of A/T Michelin's and presently my rims look like cr*p due the the road salt etc so my next job is to find a used but nice looking set of rims.
Can anyone tell me if there are other vehicles that use a similar rim as the Ex?
We have a number of auto salvage yards in the Detroit area which will be a good place to start calling around.
