I tell you a little my history my name is max I am from Chile I am restoring a ford mustang mach 1 of 1971 which had neither engine nor gearbox so I started looking for and found a ford f250 engine of the 74 with 360 el Which I have now in my power I want to be able to give better performance since this engine did not generate more 215 hp according to what I was investigated to see if they can help me what would be the best combination of part to improve the performace of the engine in order to generate More than 300 hp? Attentive to your post many thanks ...
the 360 & 390 cid engines were part of the FE series engines.....they were around for many years and are basically work horses for the trucks.......for use in a car, you would really have to change the cam, completely re-machine or replace the heads, replace the intake and carb and modify the distributor so that it will advance all in by 2500 rpm.
I'm sure someone will jump in here and provide a link to all the parts & specs.
If you don't get any replies to your post here on the 385 forum you may want to also post your question on the FE, FT forum. Good luck on your project.
Thank you very much for answering my question and that such would only change the external components of the engine to better components since I have a good automated box a c6 and a differential dana 44 with self-locking.
In this last time and been working on the engine I have it completely disassembled the pistons are at 0.20 nose if it is the original measurement I want to adjust it so any advice or suggestion is well received my idea is to keep the 360 engine because I modify it to 390 is very expensive and for that preferable to look for a 390 that same is very scarce in chile I love the big block of alpha male thanks wait your answers ..
