Replacement choke spring winds other direction?

Replacement choke spring winds other direction?
Got a replacement choke for my mc2150. Thermoelectric OEM choke goes one direction as it could up. The replacement goes the other direction. I am guessing this will cause the choke to not operate correctly. Anyone run into this problem?

I'm not too familiar with electric chokes but flipping it over is where I would start
