OE wipers

Is it possible to by the OE wipers? I replaced mine last year and am not happy with the performance of the replacements, compared to what came on the truck (and they weren't cheap)

You can buy Motorcraft wipers from any dealership. Don't hold out for the same performance however. I've found the Motorcraft wipers are hit and miss on longevity. Actually, I've never found any brand of any price point to have repeatable performance.

I agree with that statement. We've bought $10 wiper blades, and we've bought $25 wiper blades. They all seem to work great for a month or two, and the ones that last longer are not always the more expensive ones.

I've been looking at the silicon wiper blades, and I think I'll give them a try. From what I've seen, they are not necessarily more expensive.

Not o.e but ill add that the wiper blades from costco are amazing!!! Ive bought many sets over the years and all were trouble free and effective, i believe there the michelin brand they have. Winter or summer, they work and last very well, they go on sale from time to time and i pick up set, all of our vehicles have them and my 150 will get a pair when time comes.

Funny, I think they're complete POS'. I installed a pair two months ago and threw them away today. Just just won't accept a 4" wide streak right at my eye level. I had good luck with them years ago, but not this time around. I guess that just proves my earlier comment.

The price is hard to beat when they're on sale...$9 for the pair.

I had mine replaced at the Ford Quick Lane the last time I had it serviced, they're Motorcraft, but not near as good as the OE wipers were, I'll purchase aftermarket next go around.

I bought some high dollar PIAA wipers about 6 weeks ago. They are silicon. The reason I figured that I would spend that much is that I want them to work when I need them. In the summer the wipers bake on a hot winshield for weeks before they're needed. Nothing more annoying than when a blade self destructs after a few wipes.

If they last a year they're worth the price, since I usually only get 4-6 monthsout of premium replacements like Bosch Icons.

I had pretty good luck with Bosch on my previous vehicles, being in the deep south, I have yet to find a wiper to last longer than 6 months or so. Which, when they start skipping, leaving streaks, they're gone, cannot stand a noisy wiper or streaks. Anyway, it's so damn hot down here and rains ALOT, I'm constantly changing them out. As stated, the set Ford installed hasn't lasted very long at all.

Winshield temps here in the summer can reach 140 in direct sunlight on a parked vehicle. Easy to see why they don't last long here. I almost year out of the OEM wipers, I was impressed. The ones you get over the parts counter aren't quite the same. Just like oil filters.
