We've all heard the stories lately for the reason for the increase in fuel prices. I wish they (ALL) would treat us like the adults we are and be HONEST with us.
Just wanted to get a feel for price gouging in YOUR area.
Comments, though are welcome, since their may be many, keep it short and sweet please...

I filled up yesterday and diesel was $1.49 in Kansas City. The annoying thing is the station I go to only lets you put $35.00 in if you pay credit at the pump. This means that if the price is higher, your not even filling up your tank. I go there because it's about a block from work.
I filled up yesterday, in Cordova, TN for 1.44.9 - the range around here, for diesel is 1.44.9 - 1.52.9 Flying J over in West Memphis, Ar is 1.39.9. Gas is a lot higher - My wife is paying 1.79.9 for her car.
I like it when diesel is a lower price - often round here it is higher.
Diesel here is $1.629, 87 gas is $1.76-1.799. Has the price of crude jumped in the past few weeks? All I've heard is this is due to a pipeline break out West (which I would think should make gas CHEAPER in the East, right?), and the recent blackout. A 7-hour blackout causes the price of gas to jump 20 cents? Did the price of gas jump right after the '65 blackout? How stupid do they think we are?
Tucson, Arizona
$1.80 for regular. I'm not an oil company apologist and I'm not lobbying for higher prices but I don't think gas is unreasonably priced. I mean, in 1960 we were paying 30 cents a gallon and a $10,000 wage would get a person in the bottom rung of the middle class. Now, I would think a salary of $70K or so would land you at about the same spot. If gas went up at the same rate we would be paying $2.10 or so. Hardly an empirical argument but I think it is more or less accurate.

The local Arco down the street has jumped a penny a day, sometimes twice a day for the past 3 weeks. Currently he is at $1.91, and that is cheap around here for regular.
I just filled my car up(something like 22g) and it cost me over $40 this morning. yeow. I used to complain when my F250 cost that much to fill(38gallons), not that long ago.
I find it suspicious that the price goes up every day, especially around summer holidays. The excuse we hear around here(Oregon) is that some refineries went off line or Iraq. A friend in Pennsylvania said the excuse they get is the power black out, huh?
