Skyline00... you used the 677 ones for a 0-1" lift ? I thought you had a 3" front lift? I used the 677's for a 0 -1" lift and they would top out, so I returned and went with the 646's for a 2-3" lift and worked much better with the 1 1/2 extra length.
You're correct, I just went and dug up my paper work, they are 646's. Sorry about the crap information..
What type of tools/skill does it take to install these? I've done tons of work on vehicles and am pretty handy, but I've done very little in the way of suspension work. If they make that much of a difference, they may go on my list of things to do.
For a stock ride F250 (no level, no lift), which front/rear shocks would be appropriate? The 677's?
The last set of shocks I installed on a truck required a jack and two wrenches. It should not take any special skills. For a point of reference here are videos from a previous model year:
I used Stage 3 Motor Sport, They will hook you up. Mark or who ever answers.
Easy install just install the bottom first, easier to pull down the top than pushing the bottom up to get a bolt thru.
I was very disappointed in the ride of my F 250 Platinum FX4. It wasn't so much that it "hit" hard on potholes etc, but the constant bed "chatter" and vibration of going down the road, rattling my skull. I changed to FOX 2.0 and it changed the ride 100% for the better. The only issue I have now is the truck feels extreamly "loose" on the highway when towing evening a 3,000 BassBoat. Are you other FOX shock guys experiencing this? My 4x4 guy said we may need to look at my Caster Camber?
How can Stage 3 or any of the companies have a "2017 Fox 2.0 replacement shock" listed if Fox doesn't even have 2017 info on their website?? I know the '16 will fit...but just curious how that marketing/sales deal works? Are the companies just "saying" they are 2017 models?
I do not have a level kit or a lift. The shocks made the truck ride bettter, but I am having a hard time with the "float" or slop when towing. I did not have an alignment done after the shocks...Truck tracks staight down road, but seems like I am fighting the wheel side to side

Thats interesting, I have a leveling kit but haven't towed anything real heavy yet. I wonder how it will tow with my factory ranchos. Did you tow your boat before you changed your shocks? If so did it feel the same? I can't figure out why shocks would affect the side to side while towing. 🤔

THIS is what makes me hesitant about buying Fox 2s. I'm sure my ride unloaded will improve, and I don't tow that often, but when I do have a trailer on for 7 hour trips, I'd hate to be slopping around the whole way.
