my cab on my 96 f250 4 door truck is 2 inches lower on the body lines than the bed.it makes my truck look like its bowed in the middle.the frame is straight,i have found no body mounts on the back of the cab it appears to be bolted directly to the frame?whats up and how do i fix it?
I still don't see on the PDF where there are rear cab mounts. My truck is a 4x4 long bed ,crew cab 4 door. I am sure there should be bushings under the rear of the cab. My truck looks like it was bolted straight to the frame on the rear of the cab.when I got the truck the cab was sagging .I wonder if they wore out and a previous owner removed them ? Can anyone tell me if bushings go there and where I can get just those
The bushing set I bought did not have the bolts like this kit seems to.
The upper and lower parts of the bushings have metal sleeves that are pressed together and need to be pulled apart. I cut the flared part off when I reinstalled.
I cobbled a puller out of some pipe and found a piece of threaded rod the same threads as the bolt and wrenched them apart. You will have to jack the cab up a little. Make sure all 6 bolts are loose but not removed as the cab can slip off the frame if you are careless. Some people removed the bolt from the top, poked it through a chain and threaded the bolt into the 'nut' underneath. The other end of the chain is attached to the floor jack, and as the cab is lifted, the chain pulls the two pieces apart.
Some have claimed that they have pounded them apart by hitting the loosened bolt inside the cab. I tried a few swings but found this method impractical for me.
