Dana 60 clunk
I greased the splines on the transmission output shaft and replaced the ujoints. When reinstalling the driveshaft I noticed good amount of slack in the rear differential input shaft. I can rotate it probably an inch in either direction.
I assume this is where the clunk is coming from. There is no whine really (at least not anything I can hear over road noise).
So I'm guessing this isn't exactly normal, but should I be saving up for a rebuild or is it going to be ok?
My van has done the same/similar clunk since I got it at 113,000miles. It's now at 286,000.
Mine also clunks as I near a stop while decelerating or braking. In neutral or Drive: same thing. Does yours?

I'm still going to remove the rear cover and replace the diff oil as Balgeurt suggested just for peace of mind. It's a church van so I'm assuming that gear oil is roughly 130,000 miles old.
After that the only concerning noise I haven't fixed or nailed down is what I believe to be a rattling torque converter in park, may just have to live with that supposedly they will live a long time like that.
