It is a 2bbl FE with a horizontal oil filter (standard for pickups of that era) and a front sump pan with the "rust preventive" oil splash design, again, standard for the era.
It has pickup truck exhaust manifolds.
It is painted blue and it appears to original paint, which pegs it a '66 or later. It has "C8.." heads, which peg the heads at '68 or later, possibly as new as '71.
THAT, afaik, is all we can tell by looking at the outside.
Stick a wire down a plug hole. (see the FAQ at the top of the forum)
3.5 = 352/360, 3.75 (approx.) = 390.
All FE blocks up to a certain time in the '70s have "352" cast into the front as you show.
Went and looked a little deeper at the block. The area that should have a block code is blank. does that mean anything? And yes I will check the stroke at some point here. Just making eventual rebuild plans and want to figure out if I have good cores for a mild 410 build.
If the heads are original I would say it's a '68-'72 FE and not a later one. Starting sometime in ~'72 the truck blocks were cast with a mirror 105 instead of the 352 on the front of the block. Also around the same time the heads switched from C8AE-H to D2TE-AA parts. '68 was about the time that Ford quit casting the partial engineering numbers into the drivers side of blocks the DIF ("352") blocks. Check the casting date on the block it's located just below the oil filter adapter pad. Also the casting number/date on the intake will help narrow it down as well (assuming it's all original).

68- about 71 casting codes were not really on most blocks in trucks. I would guess a 360/390. Only way to tell is pull a plug and measure the travel of the piston. 3.5 = 360 3.73/3.75 is a 390.
