Draining DEF Tank

Draining DEF Tank
The only way to drain this tank in place is to siphon it? Just recently shed some pounds, but topped this tank about 3 weeks ago, so it has about 5 gallons in it. Only thing I've found online about this is to siphon or remove. I wanted to keep in place, drain, clean out with distilled water, drain again, and then leave in case I ever have to go back to stock. Is there a plug on it for easy draining?
Thanks!

The plug for draining is the same opening for filling. Your information is accurate on using some type of siphon to remover the DEF. If you live near a Harbor Freight, you can get a "pump" like this...

Alternative and you will need:
Air compressor (can't be the small pancake ones, doesn't have to be the 80 gallon/ 240V variety)
Air chuck
Towel/rag
Piece of hose that will fit into the DEF tank and hang out lower than the DEF tank sits.
1. Put hose in DEF tank to the bottom
2. Put air chuck into opening of tank
3. Put rag/towel around the entire opening
4. Push some air into the tank
Air will force the DEF fluid out the hose and start a siphon. You don't need to continually push air into the tank, once the siphon starts it will continue on until it is empty.
This way you don't have to take the chance of swallowing DEF. I also use this method to remove gas. I also have a special hose with a fitting and marble in it. You shake it in the fluid and it creates a siphon. Not that $6.99 for that hand pump is horrible. Just giving you other ideas.

Venturi
HF has a small red plastic Venturi device that can be taken apart and re-plumbed and by using an air compressor it will create a vacuum and you can suck out what is inside. Be aware that it’s going to be coming out with the pressure you are using, so be careful where you point it.
