Any parts store should have 'em. Don't limit yourself to yer '79 F150 as a 250/350 will work. Also, one from any '80 -'86 bullnose I6, '77 - '82 Mblock will work. Mebbe more years are compatible but these I know will work.....Motorcraft, of course.

we don't have too many 70's Ford trucks in the Junkyards around here, and not sure I would want to take one from a 40 year old truck in the Junkyard, I was going to ask about compatibility with other vehicles

Agree on not taking a solenoid from a 40+ year old boneyard vehicle. Might get lucky, might not....still an old semi-electrical unit.

just to set the record straight before I order this part...we are talking about a Starter Solenoid Relay, fender well mount, not a Starter Solenoid that is mounted on the starter motor

Starter solenoid....right front fenderwell mount....4 pronger, one to the + BATT, one to the Starter, one 'S' terminal, one 'I' terminal.

Make sure she's well grounded, too.

can't believe what a difference it is just by holding it in my hand, more heavy duty, and much heavier then the aftermarket one I got before from Summitt
