Oh co'mon Trover. It's just a picture of a diesel on a tow. All I'm showing/stating is that you are much more likely to be in the position the picture represents, driving any modern diesel vs gas. Secondly, while the pictured truck had tranny issues, those issues are only on diesels so far.

I generally agree the gas trucks should be pretty much problem-free...but its not like the 2017's are breaking down (yet) for engine issues...aside from the defective oil pumps...but that is apparently a supplier issue and could happen to a gas engine as well. Gas and diesel F-350 transmissions are the same, but the gas transmissions use different coolers and the lines are routed differently.
I'm not expecting a lot of problems with my 6.7L diesel, though. I did not buy extended warranty or anything like that.
Both of my last 2 gas truck engines puked their guts out before 30k miles. One puked its camshaft lobes, valves, and lifters and Ram just threw new parts on and drained the oil and prayed that band aid would last until the warranty expired leaving me holding the bag on their defective engine.
Thanks for all the advice and about to pull the order trigger tomorrow.

After driving trucks with and without adaptive steering, the adaptive steering is awesome and really changes the feel of the truck in tight situations.
The 360 degree camera setup is really nice for parking these big trucks in the city.
Spend the money on the weathertek or husky floor liners.
Don't do Fx4. Just get skid plates. The Fx4 shocks are not well reviewed.
The upfitter switches are so cheap for how trick they are, really a good investment for future proofing gadget fitting
The panoramic roof is awesome, and I thought I hated sunroofs.
If you're really looking at getting it that loaded, you sure you don't want diesel?
