SROD 3 Speed help.

SROD 3 Speed help.
I have an 82 F-100 with a SROD attached to an inline 6. I changed the clutch and now need to replace the gaskets and I also have having trouble with the reverse lights. When I pulled the shift lever out there was a small plastic piece that fits on the bottom of the rod. I am not sure how this goes or how it affects the reverse lights. Now I have to unplug the reverse Light wire because the lights are on constantly. If anyone can give me guidance on the placement of this plastic piece and also to someone who seals gaskets and seals for SRODs that would be a big help. Thanks.
