SROD trans swap???

Hey, I have an 82 bronc with 300 hooked up to a baffed SROD transmission. I want to swap the SROD out, what is a near fit to replace the SROD?? Help please.

well are you wanting a manual tranny or auto. you could run a c-4 or an np435 manual. just depends on what you want

i would go with the np435 its a 4speed manual tranny but first gear is a granny gear. it would work well with the 300-6.

SROD trans swap???

Mr M, I did the swap in my 82. All you need is the NP435 with the adapter(different than the SROD) Make sure you get the tunnel cover that matches the 435 or cut a new hole in the old one and cover the original shifter hole. I did the swap in early 93 so I do not remember if I reused the transfer shifter linkage or not. Works so good I swapped the driveline into my 84 when the 82 totally rusted out.
