New aluminum paint truck scratches easily

If this is the case then it applies to all makes and models and should apply evenly to Ford, Dodge, GM etc. Personally I haven't heard many complaints so maybe it's an isolated issue.

While I agree with what most people are saying......I guess I am of the mindset that I am buying my Super Duty to perform duties of a full size truck and while I want it to stay as "Pretty" as possible, I expect to see nicks, dings, and other minor blemishes on a truck. I fully anticipate with every 4x4 vehicle I have that I will need to use some touch up or take it to a shop and have these things fixed at some point in the life of the vehicle.
Again I understand your concerns with the paint chipping easily, but I seriously doubt Ford is going to do much about it at this point.

I was at a Toyota off road event a few years ago and all the guys driving FJ Cruisers were bitching to the field reps about their soft paint.
My brothers 2015 Silverado looks like it has a skin disorder with the million chips (gravel road vehicle) in it's dark grey hood.

70 TIMES? You must live in Mudville. My 2015 F150 Stupor Crew has been to the car wash exactly twice since I got it 8/1/2015.
It was clay barred, then waxed and is parked inside a garage, then dusted weekly. 'Course it only has 3,650 miles on the clock, but 70 trips thru a car wash is mind boggling.

I do not believe there is any kind of widespread paint issue on these trucks. Water-based / low VOC paint did not start with these 2017's only. None of my previous SD trucks (2012, 2015, 2016) had ANY paint chip or flaking issues. My trucks are run through the salt all winter and up class 6 fire roads all summer.

Maybe it'll be like being back in time...the late 80's, early 90's were wonderful for the paint just falling off of vehicles...
Why would the '15 F150 have different paint from a Super Duty? Or is it that the '17 switched over to the water-based.
Also, where do people find out this type of information? You certainly can't read about whether the paint is water-based or not in any Ford marketing material...would love to see the source of this information.
