1995 F250 - Program Switching - Wont Start - Please Help
My younger brother just did a trade/buy and got his hands on a 1995 7.3L Powerstroke.
The guy he bought it from had an Edge Evo programmer. Just got a call from my brother saying his wait to start light isn't coming on, his check engine light is flickering, and he can hear a grinding/clicking noise from the fuse box under the hood when he turns the ignition on. He looked at the diagram and said it sounds seems to be coming from the PCM relay.
I'm not a programmer fan. I've been strictly a chip guy myself for my 99'.
He was trying to put the stock tune back on the truck and now the programmer cant find the PCM.
Sounds to me like something happened during the loading unloading of tunes to me and now perhaps the PCM doesn't have any tune at all.
I'm familiar with not having a wait to start light come on. Usually not a good sign, but hopefully in this case, since he wasn't physically tying into the pcm, it doesn't mean he fried it or anything.
Looking for some input. He's a student over in Pullman, WA and needs his rig bad to be able to get around so this is an urgent one.
Anybody have this problem before?
Please help. He's making an account right now so he can chime in too.

Anybody have a spare PCM that could be purchased in case it is fried?
I remember having to by one refurbished before and it wasn't too cheap even for a refurb.
So my brother is working on getting a new PCM at this point.
Looks like they have them for about $150 through Napa.
Anything specific he should know?
I know sometimes certain PCMs are better than others that both work for the model year. Anybody have an extra pcm they are willing to part with or any advice on exact pcm model number?
Spare PCM wouldn't be a bad thing to have anyway. This - PCM Codes - 1994-1997 Power Stroke FAQ - will tell you the correct PCM code, and that's the best thing to go by. Even with car-part.com, contact the yard to confirm that the PCM code matches.
Another possibility - the clicking relay and blinking CE light suggest possibly a low voltage condition. Check batteries. If one battery is extremely low, disconnected it and turn the key to RUN again (do NOT try to start it), and see if that restores normal PCM ops.
