CTS Evolution Problem - Truck wont start
So far that was wrong...
I updated the CTS before i put it in the truck like the manual says.
I then tried to connect it to the obd port and went through the menus a selected ford ... etc ... it says Trying to connect to Can.... then trying to connect to J1850 PWM... and it never is able to...
And now when i disconnect everything my truck wont start...
The ignition will crank but wont turn over
Now i am currently talking to their customer service but i figured this has had to happen to someone else..
They told me there maybe another 3rd party card attached to the PCM so i took that out and there isn't anything connected. They also said it might be battery voltage so i went a bought a battery charger and charged it for 5 hours and no dice.
Now i am kinda to the point where i just want to cut my losses and send it back but i trying to figure out how to get my truck working they way it was. Now i read i can take my truck to a dealer and they can re-flash a PCM now i would rather not pay for a tow on top of this would i be able to just re remove the PCM bring it to them to flash and then re-install it on my truck and waaa laaa... But something tells me it wont be that easy
Thanks,
Mark

So you checked the aft-facing end of the PCM (the end that you can access from the cab) and confirmed that there's no chip connected there?
17-to-20-year-old truck, no loan payments and cheap insurance, SOP is to have some "enhanced" towing coverage such as AAA Plus or BetterWorld Club. Pays for itself with one tow.
Generally, this is the risk with programmers vs. chips. Since they re-program the PCM, there is the chance of a write error, rendering the PCM inop.
It's surprising that Edge doesn't include the revert-to-stock software in the initial package. Any product that updates the PCM, the vendor should really include software to reflash back to stock with every product sold.

Yes i actually pulled the pcm out and checked it... it looked like it had once had a tuner attached but it wasn't currently connected to anything.
Ya i haven't seen an email from customer service today so i will call them this afternoon and see what they can figure out cause i just called the dealership and they said that it would be 180.00 for a re-tune and 130.00 for a diagnostic which in my option is almost robbery.
The tach does move when i try to start the truck ~500rpm... not sure what that means...
they said they would send me one of there old programmers and see if that works but they said that if that doesn't work i ve got a dead PCM.
